FAQ

General

Is BooM BoT free? Yes.

Is it affiliated with Supercell? No. BooM BoT is unofficial fan tooling and is not endorsed by or associated with Supercell. It reads game data through the official Clash of Clans API.

What does the bot need from my server to work? An invite with the listed permissions, configured channels via /config dashboard, and at least one linked clan. Everything else is optional.

Rosters and months

How are CWL months named? By calendar month in YYYY-MM form, for example 2026-07. The bot handles month rollover automatically when suggesting the active month.

We ran a second CWL in the same month. Can the bot handle that? Yes. Append .5 to the month — 2026-07.5 — anywhere a month is entered. It is treated as a completely separate CWL with its own signups, rosters, and history.

Can I copy last month's rosters instead of starting over? Yes. When you start a build, you can copy the previous month's finalized rosters as a starting point. Players who would now trigger a serious vetting warning are set aside for you to confirm individually — see Vetting warnings.

Does the bot ping people when rosters are published? The announcement post pings each rostered player once, and can ping @everyone if you choose. Reminder posts use display names only, so edits and refreshes never re-ping anyone.

Linking and data

Do members have to link their accounts? Rosters work without links, but linked accounts are what make DM notifications, signups, and person-level flags work. The claim board makes linking painless.

We use ClashPerk. Do members have to link twice? No. When someone links an account with ClashPerk in your server, BooM BoT notices and mirrors the link (with leader review). See ClashPerk link mirroring.

What data does the bot store about players? Account tags, names, town-hall levels, clan membership history, CWL performance, and any flags leaders record. The full picture is in the Privacy Policy.

Can I move my rosters to another server or bot instance? Yes — see Moving rosters between servers.

Troubleshooting

A dashboard button says "This interaction failed." The panel probably expired. Dashboards are ephemeral and time out after a period of inactivity; run the command again for a fresh one.

Slash commands aren't showing up. Make sure the bot was invited with the link from these docs (it carries the applications.commands scope) and that members have Discord's Use Application Commands permission in that channel. Kicking and re-inviting with the correct link fixes a scope-less invite.

Town-hall levels show as "TH?" in the builder. The bot backfills missing town halls automatically at the start of every build. If one persists, the account has never been seen by the Clash of Clans API under a linked clan — check the tag.
