Permission tiers

BooM BoT has three tiers of access. Knowing them makes every other page shorter.

The tiers

Everyone. Any server member. Can use /help, /source, sign up for CWL, link their own accounts through /link dashboard, claim accounts on the claim board, and view signups with /signups view.

Leadership (the approved role). Anything that manages other people's data sits behind this tier: the roster dashboard, the registry dashboard, flags, signups administration, and history imports. It is satisfied by either an admin (below) or any role you add on the Roles screen of /config dashboard. This is how you give co-leaders roster powers without giving them Discord admin.

Admin. The server owner or anyone with Discord's Administrator permission. Reserved for configuration and destructive actions: /config dashboard, /config branding, /roster import, unlinking clans, and wiping signups.

Who can run what

Command Tier
/help, /source Everyone
/link dashboard Everyone (management sections inside require leadership)
/signups view Everyone
/signups post, /signups open Leadership
/signups reset Admin
/roster dashboard Leadership
/roster import Admin
/registry dashboard Leadership (prune requires admin)
/link bulk Leadership
/import cwl Leadership
/flag Leadership
/config dashboard, /config branding Admin
/roles setup Discord Manage Server permission
/clear Discord Manage Messages permission

Inside the dashboards the same rule applies control by control: a button you don't have the tier for renders disabled with a short note saying what it requires, and every action is enforced server-side regardless of what the panel shows.

Tip

If a co-leader reports that /roster dashboard tells them they're not authorized, the fix is almost always adding their role on the Roles screen of /config dashboard.
